Hey everyone! Today, we'll be reviewing Five Nights at Candy's 2 by Emil Macko. There's not much else to say, so let's go!

Story: 8/10[]

In this game, you play as Marylin Schmidt (probaby the daughter of Mary Schmidt from FNaC 1). She has lost an unknown bet, and now must spend five nights in an abandoned factory. However, the old animatronics from Candy's Burgers and Fries are in the building and ready to strike. With only a monitor and phones at her disposal, it's up to Marylin to survive the nights and prove that she's not a chicken.

There's only one problem I have with this plot: if Marylin only had to spend five nights in the factory, why does she stay seven nights?

Gameplay: 8/10[]

This game mainly revolves around six phones scattered around the building. The player has to use these phones for two reasons:

  1. To lure away all of the animatronics (except Chester and The Cat) from the office.
  2. To scare Chester and CAT away from the vents (if they get into the vents, you're pretty much dead)

Along with the six landline phones, Marylin has a phone of her own that she uses as a flashlight. The problem is that the flashlight only illuminates the hallway in front of Marylin for about one second.

The last mechanic of note is the Penguin. He acts similarly to Phantom BB from FNaF 3, but instead of jumpscaring you, he deactivates the cameras and phones for a short time. The Rat can also do this, but he acts like the rest of the animatronics for the most part).

All in all, these are pretty innovative mechanics, and make for a great experience and a fair learning curve.

Graphics: 8/10[]

The graphics are improved from the first FNaC game. The strange tint on the cameras from the first game is gone, and the minigames are pleasing to the eye. Also, the models themselves look much improved, although it seems like Emil is hinting that this fact has relevance in the lore and isn't just a model update.

Audio: 9/10[]

FNaC 2 has a pretty great soundtrack. The Extras menu music is catchy, and the title theme sounds pretty sinister. The jumpscare screams are also much scarier than the FNaC 1 screams.

Replay Value: 8/10[]

The Extras menu has lots to discover, and the game has not one, but TWO max difficulty modes! There's a mode with Candy, Cindy, Blank, Chester, and Penguin at max difficulty, and one with The Rat and The Cat at max difficulty. There's even a little teaser for FNaC 3!

Grand Total: 41/50 (82) (B-)[]

Five Nights at Candy's 2 took everything great about FNaC 1 and fixed all the issues. The soundtrack is awesome, the graphics are nice, and the game is just a ton of fun to play. FNaC 2 is great, and you should check it out.
